L Spot Mission Statement

L Spot Palm Springs is an online publication exclusively geared toward lesbian women that offers business, social and cultural information to local and visiting lesbians in the Palm Springs area. It provides the only local venue for advertising, event marketing and information that is geared specifically toward the lesbian community, with the ability and commitment to grow and expand as needed to encompass the interests and needs of our market.

About L Spot

L Spot was envisioned in 2005 by editor Marnie Hesson and built by webmaster Suzanne Delahanty to serve the needs of a growing and richly diverse lesbian community in the greater Palm Springs area..

How the L Spot came to be…
It has always been in the back of my head to find a way to reach out to the women's community. With the explosion of the internet came a great way to get word out about activities, groups, etc. to women who seldom (if ever) go out to a bar or pick up the local magazines. I started with the intention of creating a little women's group to do outdoor activities. Then I started thinking that really we needed more like an online bulletin board to get ahold of each other for events and such ... that morphed into the concept of doing something more like a magazine ... when my web savvy friend Suzanne Delahanty suggested we sit down and flesh it out, the concept became reality and with her help creating the site, the L Spot was born. It is my pet project, my addiction, my way of giving back to the community as well as being my business. And it is a lot of fun in the process.

Thanks for your support!
Marnie Hesson, Editor and Publisher
