Bliss 2010: An Oasis for Women of Color

An Oasis for Women of Color in the Desert is organized by women of color for women of color to provide a Palm Springs vacation getaway that is specifically inclusive and catering to women of color.

This weekend is about celebrating and embracing the vast diversity of women who love women. We encourage women from all backgrounds, sizes, abilities and ethnicities to join us in the Desert for this historic weekend. We consciously programmed the weekend to offer a wide variety of music, performers, and events that reflect the different cultures within the greater lesbian community. We welcome all women of color and their allies to enjoy this amazing weekend.

Women in the Arts

November 5th - 7th - Desert Hot Springs, CA

Produced bt LAWTP, Women in the Arts is a three day festival showcasing the best from women artists in the fields of Theatre, Film, Music, Literature and Visual Arts.

Grammy award-winning, singer/songwriter, JANIS IAN, whose hit songs, At Seventeen and Society's Child made her a music icon, will perform at the event on Saturday November 6th. Ms. Ian will also teach a special "Master Class in Artistry" workshop on Sunday November 7th.

1st Wednesdays Art Walk in Palm Springs


RECOGNIZED AS THE COOLEST, HIPPEST ART DISTRICT IN THE DESERT, BACKSTREET ART DISTRICT in south Palm Springs has monthly art openings, showing new and exciting original contemporary & modern art. The work will reflect both established and emerging nationally & internationally known artists from around the country. Most venues serve refreshments & snacks.

The "We Care" Free Mobile Mammogram Program serves the uninsured/underinsured women of Coachella Valley. If you are over 40 without health insurance, call and make an appointment. Or, if you want to help pay for a woman's mammogram, send a donation. We need volunteers too!
